Tailgating

Thankfully, I live in the bush, and while I don't habitually tailgate, I do come up close behind cars I'm about to overtake. Distance depends on what I'm about to overtake, usually out here it's a caravan or a B-double, in which case I have to sit back some distance to be able to see the road ahead. As for leaving a big gap between you and the car in front, my experience of city driving was that all that happened was that lane-changes saw a decent gap as a spot for them to take!
Out where I live the speed limit is 110km/hr, and frankly, I get very annoyed by grey nomads who waffle along at 90km/hr. OK for them , they're retired and have all the time in the world. I am working, and have limited time to get where I'm going, on occasions, especially given the huge distances "out west".
