Tailgating

Something I absolutely hate while driving. There is no reason for it and it is very dangerous. Vicroads teaches to leave a 2 second gap from the car in front, but who can estimate 2 seconds while driving at 100km/hr? It is much better to use a rule of thumb which is 1 car length for every 10km/hr of speed, plus 50% more if the road is wet.

I hate tailgaters with a passion! But perhaps you should consider that the law in many states obliges you to travel in the left lane (assuming there are at least two) unless you're overtaking. If you camp in the right hand lane just because you're on the limit, then you're being as discourteous as the tailgaters.

For what it's worth, I once had a lady friend who was qualified in the world of psychology/psychiatry. She claimed that all male tailgaters were latent homosexuals. Not sure what she felt about the women that do it...
