Tailgating... the bane of every driver life. My experience is usually to touch the brakes and that lets the driver behind know to drop back - as long as is is someone reasonable driving. My worst experience of tailgating involved being followed by two B-double semis who were being held up through a long stretch of 80k roadworks on the Princes highway. They rode our bumper for nearly 40k on a dark wet night where we couldn't see anywhere to pull over to let them through. there was so little room that even if we'd touched the brakes they would have been over the top of us. When they did get a chance to pass the first one blew the arihorn contin ually and then pulled in across the front of our car before he's actually finished passing. I still breakout in a cold sweat thinking about aht might have happened. Now I'm nervous about driving on some of the highways especially at night when you cant see whats beside you to pull over
