Defensive driving courses

When I was a young driver, a police officer friend of the family suggested that such a course would be beneficial to anyone who drives. I took the course and have always been grateful for doing so, to the extent that I insisted my children do so before being able to drive the family car.
The main lesson I have remembered, is to drive as if all other drivers are going to do the unexpected at any time.
I still advocate that such a course may go some way to reducing the road toll.
A refresher course should also be done before any suspended driver has their licence reinstated.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

I competed one of these in high school yr 12 and also with work. I would recommend to young people before they get there licence for sure! They can learn how too lock up a car and avoid obstacles with confidence when driving a car. The driving course was really informative and has stuck with me drive and was really beneficial. They also give you goggles that make you feel like your drunk and on drugs and make you walk along a straight line, but in fact you walk of the line!
