Care to tell us exactly which brands you are talking about. This nonsense that home brands are brand names in a different box is a fallacy, and has been since year dot. Yet people still believe this rubbish. You obviously know nothing about the reality of home brands. In the case of Coles and Woolworths for example, they approach contract manufacturers along with brand manufacturers with a request for a product. The manufacturer will formulate a product for them to the supermarket's specification, produce samples etc, and what the price will be. If it is acceptable, and the supermarket can make a good margin on the product, it will go into production. People only think there is no difference between a brand and a home brand because they don't buy one of each and compare them side by side, for appearance, taste, etc. Go to the supermarket and look at jars of jam. If you cannot see the difference, then call in at the Optometrist on your way home and get your eyes tested. Also compare the list of ingredients on the boxes/packets/jars etc. The differences are glaringly obvious.
