I think it really depends on the product. Anything is worth a try to see if it's any good. However I would read the back to see where it is from. I'm not inclined to purchase food from China or NZ unless I know 100% it actually comes from NZ. Once I had children I am much more careful about these things. I try to mostly buy local with food. Anything else I will 100% give home brands a try :)
The main frustration is however that I might find a good home brand product but then it changes :(
