Home brand vs named brand

Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

Rainbow says: I use homebrand cereals for baking slices and cookies with. I find they taste rather bland as a cereal. Most named brand cereals taste the same as each other these days, but I have found the Dick Smith Bush Foods museli is brilliant. Filling, tasty, healthy and Aussie as well. It may initially appear to cost more, but as you need less in your bowl to fill you up, it works out the same as regular cereal.
