Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

Thought I would give you a little info about home brand products. I used to work for a company where we had the opportunity of touring some of our manufacturers product factories that we sold in our stores. Believe it or not some of the home brand products are made by name brand manufacturers. I.E. Smiths potato chips actually make the home brand ones and the same goes for some of you ice cream manufacturers and they are a whole lot cheaper. I will buy home brand anytime over brand name ones and if I find one I don't like I'll buy the cheapest brand name. It comes down to advertising and if you have a company that advertises a lot on TV, magazines etc. you will pay more because their cost has to be passed on.
