Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

I think some home brands are slightly up in the price range especially with what I would term 'luxury' items, eg ice creams, otherwise most are cheaper.
On the whole they are not as good as the named brands taste-wise. The bottom line is what is the use of buying something because it is cheap when you are not going to enjoy it and when the taste is not taste as good had you spent a bit more for the named brand that you know gives you that taste/flavour and enjoyment that is worth your money.
If the named brands are disappearing and being replaced by home brands
