Home brands are popular as most people go for price. The catch is the source of most of this cheaper product is from subsidised overseas locations meaning Australian producers and processors miss out on the essential sales proceeds to remain viable. Hopefully the recent issues surrounding SPC (and later Woolworths doing a deal) might send the message home - dont collectively whinge about losing your Australian jobs if on the other hand your spending pattern does not give some support the Australian employer/producer/processor.
