Are there brands that you used to buy that are no longer in your local supermarket? What do you think of all these 'home brands'? Are they just as good as the named brands, are they cheaper, or are you still hankering after something in particular that just seems to have disappeared from the shelves? Give us your opinion.

So many companies' ownership has changed and brand names changed with them that is hard to keep up with. e.g. some products that were labelled Heinz are now labelled Wattie.
Home Brand or Generic Brand as some know them are made by manufacturers who make then Name Brands. There may be a different ratio of ingredients in some of them. The containers, especially those packed in glass or plastic are often very similar. We try the Generic brand items once. If we don't like them we don't buy them again. Please bear in Mind that .Woolworths private label is actually called Home Brand.
