I used to work in a food factory that made well known brands and home brands for stores as well. All we did was change the packaging not the product itself when we made the home brands. The company didn't make them for profit as there was little in it but it was better than another rival company getting that share of the market instead. I think that it is mainly psychological that people think that as its cheaper, it must be an inferior product.I always buy home brands and can not tell the difference in most cases.
