They sell home brands to make greater profit. What is it about home brands that makes them cheaper for the store to produce? Is it cheaper ingredients, lower labour costs or cheaper quality control etc? The supermarkets aren't doing it for our benefit - it's so they can make more money. I find many of the store brands don't taste as good or the quality is inferior even if the packaging is now classier. Many of my favorite brands have disappeared or are never on the weekly specials list.
