Latest technology already exists outside of Australia. It's just that, the cost of importing them in to Australia costs an "an arm & a leg" and the affordability will be too high. But, bit by bit cars like Mercedes, Volvo,BMW, Subaru are upgrading higher safety as an option. The Carbon issue has grown out of proportion and become extra revenue riser for Federal & State Governments and not all the revune raised goes towards Carbon welfare but to the politician's income welfare.
